Use Up Elsie

I used up two collections of paper and scraps today, and this is my third to tackle. I held onto my *Love,Elsie* papers too long. I used to love them, like LOVE them so freakin' much, and now? Now they don't fit my style at all. I'm layering with them as much as I can, going a bit nuts (as you can see in my other post from today), but it still looks off for me. I really just have to get paper I like and then use it. Period.
This is the layout I came up with, covering a piece of cardstock with long strips of the paper and then layering on mats and anything else I could come up with. These pictures can be supported by any kind of paper, so I just went with it.
With the little bits I made these two cards.
And then this last one with an actual coloured image. I put like... effort into it.

  7. That's not a mess, it's super-tidy compared to mine. That card is amazing, the blending of colours is perfect and not an easy job to do (well it isn't for me).
Thanks for dropping by at my blog today, visitors always welcome and cups of tea readily available.

  22. Do love your rows of copic's ...like the skin tones of those, they do seem to look better than my Promarkes (OHOO did I say that!!!) Your cat look comfy, and our visiting cat, 'Jinksy' says hi too! But he's not allowed up on the desk...well, maybe if he really wants to learn to type I may let him!

Just reading the bit below, luckily blogger for once is very clever and has not let any spam through to my blog and allows me to delete it, out the back whenever...it is a pain though... I often wonder why they print loads out in a language I can't read! HaPpy WpyWW

  23. This is so true! Its so easy to love a paper so much you can't use it and then you go off it and its too late. Gah!

  27. Oh, I love messes!!! hee hee I like your idea of buying just the papers you really like. I've bought several groupings of 12 x 12 and when I was sorting it out there were so many that I really don't see myself using.

  28. I too had some Love Elsie, used it all for pages about my teenager...I like them but she thinks they're a bit 'obvious' now...I guess we just progress, huh. Or in my case, age!!

  29. Not sure why but when I clicked on your link on Julia's, all I got was one picture. Anyway, I have found you now, so thank you for your visit. I know exactly what you mean about hoarding papers you no longer like. That is what I am trying to use up this year, and not to buy anything else till then. Hope you soon get back to using things that are more in your present style. xx Maggie #89
