Halloween Goddess

Just a quick little one for you all today. I made this using Athena from SBS for a card challenge going on on the FB group. Still into the Halloween vibe, I used nice Halloween papers to make her a bit creepy. Plus, really, any excuse for me to use purple!

Smell My Feet

I got in two packages on Thursday. One from Some Odd Girl that included HollyDay Gwen and one from scrapbook.com that had these papers from Creative Imaginations. I got two other Halloween collections, but this one spoke to me right away. You may have seen this card with the voodoo guy that I did a little while ago, and when I saw this cat and the accompanying witch I was excited to make a family of sorts. Once the stamps arrived I realized that they're MUCH smaller than the voodoo guy so it'll only work if he's layered on top of them to create depth. Bummer. But the kitty doll paired up nice with HollyDay Gwen here. She's supposed to be for Christmas, but since when am I restricted by "supposed to"?! HA! She's delightfully neutral in my mind, so Halloween it is! Anyway, I worked SUPER DUPER hard on this one so I hope you like it. I love the how well the colours ended up working together, even with me using that really old phrase sticker from Bo Bunny.

Fresh Playful Pink

Hello and happy Friday! Today's challenge is brought to you by Showcase Farmer Peggy and she tasked us all with creating with PINK! Now, you may have noticed, pink is not my thing, so this was a nice challenge to do. I had our darling Miss Anya Scarves sitting on my desk since my monochrome tutorial and I figured it was time she made it onto a card. I paired her with a bit of washi and some Amy Tangerine Sketchbook papers to create a fun little card that I hope you enjoy. Come on over to TFG's blog today and join in the fun. Show us your best pink projects!

Witchy Halloween Wishes

Some Odd Girl Stamps had a HUGE sale during their Facebook Fun Day thing. I didn't get a chance to participate in the challenges as they were happening, but there were so many discounts on digi stamps *and* clear stamps that I bought three times! Yeah... I'm bad. But I got so many great stamps I had to start right away making things. This is Witchy Mae. I used a photo mat as my card base and ran some ribbons along the bottom because, honestly, I couldn't decide what other papers to use! A couple stickers and I was done. I hope you like it!

Saturday Layouts

If you didn't see it, the illustrious Glitter Girl answered my question on Simple Stories and the large quotes and journalling cards you get in a collection pack. I didn't get a chance to play along during the week the challenge was active, but I *was* inspired by this video. Yesterday, after the Halloween card, I figured I'd give it a try with the remnants of my SS Awesome collection as mostly all that's left is 6x12 papers and the quotes/journalling cards. I cobbled the background together from two 6x12 pieces, cut up three different quote blocks, and made a few embellishment clusters like GG does. I'm pretty happy with how it came out, just hoping I can do it a few more times to use up the rest of this collection pack, as well as the other two I have!
Next I decided to conquer the big stack of photos I have from last year's trip to LegoLand and Disneyland with my BFF Katie. None of us had ever been to LegoLand so we took a TON of pictures and I've been intimidated by the idea of scrapping everything interesting there. And to keep it all in a Halloween theme. Glitter Girl also helped me break out of that a bit and I decided only the obviously Halloween photos would need Halloween paper. So this layout has Echo Park Apothecary paper and stickers, along with some ribbon and some washi.
But this layout uses more generic supplies. Paper from Echo Park Everyday Eclectic and Studio Calico Hey Day. I inked it up in orange, so that orange would carry through all the layouts and tie them together.

Studio Monday: Do You Do Voodoo?

Playing around with some of the Halloween stamps I have yesterday I created this! It uses the Inkadinkadoo Voodoo set, Graphic 45/Hampton Arts pumpkins, and the spooky tree from Recollections. I also added in a  bit of washi, some punched grass, and a couple of bat stickers. I used two paper sets on this one, the most recent from Authentique (never thought I'd own anything by them, but it was a gift), and the other is from My Mind's Eye.
A little while ago someone was asking to see my Halloween stash, so here is my embellishment drawer again. I got a few more ribbons to add to the collection since the last time I showed you my drawer. I also added more stickers and such as well. It's getting better, but not quite full enough yet!
The main attraction right now is my Halloween stamp collection. I was gifted with this lunch box and I decided that since I didn't want to put it away yet I'd put my Halloween stamps in it. I'm keeping them out on my desk for the season just so I can see them all the time and it's easier to get to them. I'm also keeping my 6x6 Halloween paper pads in the top of the lid. It makes for a more orderly presentation.
Here are all this year's stamps laid out for you. I technically own more, but they're already filed neatly in my regular stamp storage system and I didn't really see the need to pull them out and put them in the lunch box right now. Since they're older I'm more familiar with them. But these ones are all purchased in the last month or so so I'm still getting acquainted with them.

Hope you enjoyed the peek and are in the mood for your own Halloween crafting!

Fresh Boy Birthday

This week's Farm Fresh Friday challenge is by Shaela and she challenged us to make birthday cards for her dear son using a boy image (naturally) and the colours orange, teal, and silver. My silver is a bit difficult to see, it's on his shirt, and I used a Spica pen to do it. I paper pieced his entire outfit other than that. I hope your son likes my card, Shaela! And I hope you'll all join us over at TGF and create your own birthday card!

Monochrome Scarves

Using the monochrome technique I displayed below I made these three cards using The Greeting Farm's Miss Anya Scarves. I wanted to show the diversity of this set. They're all so much fun to colour. Below you can see the markers I used to colour each image.

Lacey Halloween?

Fellow Showcase Farmer Sara's challenge this week is antique and lace. I... Well, I don't have any lace. I just *don't*. Not in my scrapping stuff, not in my sewing stuff, just nowhere in my stash is there something like lace. So I decided to stamp some from my MME stamps. It's a little hard to see, as it's quite detailed, but it's a nice lacy border. To get the antique look I used my Distress Markers to colour Bright Bean, paired it with some Canvas Corp papers, some washi, and a few stickers. Come on over and join us at TGF's blog and show off your lace!

Retro Haunting

I sat down today with a nice cup of tea, some rice cakes, and a brand new digi to work on: this month's Retro Fresh challenge at The Greeting Farm. We're focusing on leaves of any kind for the impending leaf extravaganza that is fall!

Pumpkin Spice Ms. Latte

I come to you with Latte Anya today! I figured with the random celebration (from some people) of the return of the Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks she'd be the perfect thing for a card. Now, I have to admit to y'all, I started her as part of an upcoming challenge and then realized I was WAY off so Anya hasn't been re-purposed, but she's certainly grooving with a particular theme that you'll see later. Plus I had to throw in just a bit of Halloween/Fall, just cos I'm me! I paired her with MME Halloween papers, a $1 stamp from Michael's, and a few Jolee's stickers to add some gentle embellishing to her styling self.

But I Eated It

This is Mike's birthday card. His birthday was the 7th, I'm just lazy about taking pictures when I don't feel well. Anyway, I was at a complete loss as to what to make him, but I do know that he likes Some Odd Girl images so I pulled out this polaroid of Giggle Fairy I had printed out. I added a cute little saying, some paper from Studio Calico's Heyday collection, Echo Park stickers, and I was done.

Bright Halloween

Hello, everyone! Yes, I have more Halloween for you, can you believe that?! I come to you with the newest addition to The Greeting Farm's Bean Collection: Bright Bean! She's so darned cute and I thought she'd look even cuter in her Halloween finest. I just happened to pick up the perfect little witch hat yesterday too, and even a book of spells. She's all set for some magic and some mischief!

Frighteningly Fresh

For today's Farm Fresh Friday challenge Showcase Farmer Kelli challenged us to use "bright colours" on our card. As you may have noticed, Halloween is in full swing in my house. How to combine bright colours with Halloween? Hmmm? Well, WRMK's Spookville did a good job of that last year, and I love the addition of purple and green to Halloween, so I took Miss Anya Scarves and coloured her up in her Halloween best! Please come join us over at The Greeting Farm's blog and show of your colours!
(PS. I hope you're enjoying these stamps in a Halloween theme instead of their original holiday intention. My fellow Showcase Farmers are doing such an amazing job showing what you can do with the stamps "on theme" that I thought it'd be fun to be a little bit "out there" with my colour/theme choices. Plus, I've never been known to be normal.)

Haunted Techniques

I spent the day resting, but when Mike decided to play video games in the bedroom I figured I could try to play a little. I got very frustrated when my first attempt at this card failed miserably. The stupid Hero Arts background stamp didn't stick to the acrylic block and ruined the image. So I had to toss it out and start over again. I embossed both the Graphic 45/Hampton Arts owl stamp and the Hero Arts spider web with black. Then I used my inks to create the purple/orange background. I coloured in the owls and the sentiment with my Copics and then added a few stickers, some washi tapes, and a new piece of Carta Bella paper. Which is a surprisingly high quality, btw.
Seeing Mike still wanted to shoot things, I decided to go for one more card. More simple this time and less frustrating! I took a Bo Bunny stamp and paper pieced it with MME 6x6 papers. I also punched out some skulls for a little border, but they don't show up too well. I need to use more contrast next time. More washi, and some stickers and I was done. Although, I don't really like the voodoo doll on there. I should probably take him off.

From Carols to Trick or Treat

So here we go! The very brand new The Greeting Farm set Sparkling Season (just released on the 1st!), thoroughly Christmas right? Yeah, I'm not feeling the Christmas thing right now, as you may have guessed from my previous post I'm WWWWAAAAAYYYY into the Halloween! So, yeah, guess what, BOOM! Turned to "boo" instead! I got to use some of my shiny new ribbon, some happy bats, and oh yes, some sparkle in there with my Stickles. I hope you like it!
