Fresh Party Punch

Hello and welcome to another Farm Fresh Friday! Showcase Farmer Melissa brings us the theme "party" which... well, could mean anything. I went with a birthday card type thing. Perhaps my niece would like it. AND I actually used some of my My Little Shoebox papers, which is awesome because they're becoming a burden, honestly.

Snow Buddies

This is Snow Buddies by Rick St. Dennis. I coloured her (I'm assuming) in purple because it's my favourite colour, obviously, and because it's nice and wintery. I figured it'd be a good contrast to all the white. I used some flowers and my Spellbinders snowflakes accented with Stickles to embellish this simple card made with MME papers. I didn't want it to be too distracting, and frankly I ran out of room on my 6x6 card!

Holly Holiday

Now, I have to tell you, I'm actually really disappointed with how her face came out. I was working it, trying to get it to have some contrast, and my Copics refused to cooperate. There's no shading from her hair, which is really weird. So, sorry. Anyway, this is the first image I've coloured from a company called Delicious Doodles. She's called Eva the Witch, but I thought she'd look nice with a green cape for the holiday. Of course, I might end up colouring her with a red hood and she can be Red Riding Hood. I sparkled her up with some flowers and some bling.

In the Mood for Fruitcake

Attempting to get into the mood, I coloured a few of the digis that I already had printed out  in Christmas colours and made a few cards. I picked up a new 6x6 Recollections pack yesterday at Michael's on the cheap. I coloured them with my Copics and coloured pencils. It's fun to use non-holiday images for holiday themed cards, takes more creativity.

Farm Fresh Popcorn

Happy Friday, everyone! Did we have enough to eat yesterday? I did, and even my food coma can't stop my boundless energy. It's safe to say that I'm super proud of this one! Showcase Farmer Sara challenged us to make a card of our favourite movie. Now, my favourite movie is The Lion King... there's no lions in TGF's lineup. I toyed with some of the animal digis, but no. So then I came up with something else... which Mike couldn't guess and discounted as "lame". I said "you've got a better idea then?" and he said "Well MY favourite movie is the Lord of the Rings trilogy". To which I responded "challenge accepted".

So there it was, how do I take an adorable, contemporary TGF image and make it look like he was meant for Middle Earth? For one, I knew I couldn't do it with just one image. I had to use two! I took WS Logan's body because of his hoodie he can look like he's wearing a the cape that was given to Frodo and the gang in the movie. But Logan's a little serious for wide eyed Frodo so I had to choose another face for him. My rubber collection consists mostly of Creeper Crew images, and as awesome as they are, again, doesn't fit with Frodo. I ended up settling on Surfer Ian with his shaggy hair.
This tested my (non-existent) drawing skills, I can tell you that! I started on scratch paper, from right to left, and tried to wipe off the ink in the areas that I needed to alter. It took some fiddling, but eventually I was happy with what I had. I gotta tell you though, I wish this were its own stamp so I don't have to do this again if I want another little Frodo!

Oh, I almost forgot! I paired Frodo with an image by Make it Crafty from my "Unused Digis" file called Forbidden Tower. I knocked down Rapunzel's tower to make it a ruin, but if I'd pre-planned the colouring of Mount Doom I would have erased one of the peaks before printing. Ah well. Then I used Simple Stories Take a Hike papers to make the card and a few Prima flowers.

Merry Chrismouse

Rick St. Dennis is an artist I discovered just Sunday through my random blog wanderings. He's amazing! I pretty much love everything in his shop and want it all, lol! But I had to pick a few things at first (in keeping with what I discussed yesterday about my Creative Addiction) and started with Merry Chrismouse (the cat and tree), 2012 Outhouse Noel, and he also sells sheets! The Santa's Toyshop sheet got me the prezzies. I picked out the bear as well, but ended up coving him with the Mouse Boa Kitty from this sheet set here which is a phenomenal deal. I loved colouring all these images, using both Copics and my coloured pencils, and I can't wait to get started on another one of Rick's amazing images. While I'm not fully in the winter holiday spirit yet, I did enjoy working with the colours and theme on this project.

Colourful Holiday Anya

Showcase Farmer Jas' DTT challenge this week was a colour challenge. She challenged us to use frosty blue, sage green, baby pink, and white. These aren't colours I usually work with so it was fun to stretch a bit. I used the new Holiday Anya 2 stamp and Echo Park papers. Come on over to TGF's blog and play along with us.

Fresh Fantasy

Our fearless TGF leader Jessica challenged us with making a Twilight themed card. Um... no. Just. No. So she expanded it to fairy tales and fantasy themed. I picked "My Little Mermaid". Why? Cos I haven't coloured this stamp yet! This is CC Syren and I got her a little while ago, but haven't coloured her up. I wanted to pair her with some lighter papers so I used an older Echo Park paper line, some Prima flowers, and a sentiment stamp from Lawn Fawn. I hope you like her and that you'll join us for this week's challenge. And yes, YOU can do a Twilight themed card.

Pay it Forward "Thankful" Challenge

Marie and Jessica of TGF have come up with a wonderful challenge for you all, all in the spirit of Thanksgiving and remembering those that are "less fortunate" this season. All the details are below, and also available on TGF's blog for you. Here is my card for the challenge, a thankful, themey card using the Chipmunks Gather digi stamp. I paired them with some Bo Bunny papers and, to my surprise, Bo Bunny stamps. I didn't know they were related until I put them on there. Anyway, please scroll down, see what you need to do to enter, nominate someone in your life, and help everyone at TGF give back to someone this holiday season.

Goodbye Cards

These took me three days to make. When I did the other image of the little fairy with the bear as sort of a goodbye to Nana my mother suggested that I should make something for my aunt and father, cards, you know? I asked on my Facebook page if that was like, etiquette or something, and it seemed the consensus was "whatever you feel like doing". I DID NOT feel like making these cards. But my mother asked and it's a nice thing to do, so I tried. Again, it took me three days. The images are from Some Odd Girl Stamps, she did a boy and a girl, and I figured that was pretty perfect. I was able to colour the larger cards, but the smaller ones I kinda lost steam on. I'm going to get them laminated though, and I'll be placing mine (the one in the middle), in the grave with Nana's ashes. Mostly I'm glad these are done so I can stop stressing about them. Plus I need to get ready to leave as we're heading up to NorCal for the funeral tonight.

Remember Today, James

Hello! Today I come to you with a brand new Double Take Tuesday card featuring a sketch by Showcase Farmer Shaela. Hop on over to TGF's blog to check out the sketch and join us. I used the new CC James image to create this boy themed card and finished it up with papers from Echo Park's For the Record 2 collection.

Purple Fantasy

Okay, so I didn't give it a sentiment, what do you want from me, lol! The point is, it's a LOT of purple. And why not? I love purple! I figured that sweet Fairy Tinsel here didn't HAVE to be wearing tinsel, right? It could be a feather boa like kids play with. And I just loved her with her sweet little glasses and her wee braids. Irresistible. So purple she became along with some purple papers (Graphic 45 Halloween themed actually), some Prima flowers and butterfly, and an over abundance of stickles. I hope you love her as much as I do!
All the purple here was done with Copics V9/17/15/12.  Skin E21/00, YR000/0000, and her wings are C2, BG11/90

I Think You're Amazing

This is a case of "I have a winter holiday themed image, but I'm not in the mood for that holiday". These little fairies were released by Make it Crafty and they're damned adorable, but they're for the winter holiday and I spent the entire day wanting to make something YELLOW! So, "screw it", I said, "I'm just going to colour her yellow!" And here you are, Fairy Twinkles in yellow accented with Echo Park This and That Charming and For the Record 2 papers and some Prima flowers.

Winter is Coming

Game of Thrones fan? Good! Good, because winter is coming. In fact, it's rather here as there's snow outside my door. I used Rio Hel from Simply B Stamps to make this card as she kind of looks like she's a character from the show/books to me. I gave her long sleeves, but unfortunately cannot draw footwear so I'm sure she's a bit cold in the snow without shoes on. Ah well. I embellished her with Prima flowers and papers from the Winter Twig collection by Little Yellow Bicycle. It's a beautiful collection and I was really happy to get it on clearance a month ago.

Life is in the Details

Lola Sif is part of the Norse Gods collection and so I figured I'd colour her up. I don't really know anything about the Norse gods, nor am I that interested, but she looks really pretty. I really like all the Teen Scene lines, but usually Lola is my favourite character. Generally it's something about her hair I think. I dunno. Originally when I printed her out I thought "I'm going to go pink and yellow with this", something bright on this snowy day, but When I grabbed a marker it ended up being black, so I went with that. Add in some of my favourite green that I can't stop using and this took less than an hour to make. The paper is from Echo Park For the Record 2 and I paired some Prima flowers and a butterfly with it. The card is 6.5x6.5 inches.

Fresh and Fashionable

I'm sorry! I'm sorry, I'm so sorry! I'm late and I hope you'll forgive me indulging in some therapeutic crafting instead of getting this up and to you on time. I am quite sorry. But here she is, my entry into the FFF: Anything But A Card challenge set up by Showcase Farmer Jess M. I admit, I originally planned to do a door hanger but when I looked at her I thought "tag!" and ran with that instead. I used the new, *large* Anya Styles and a LOT of pink. Again, don't know where that came from, but I don't tend to do a lot of thinking when it comes to my crafting time... which is why I like it so much. It's relaxing. Relaxing and pink. I used Echo Park patterned paper, some washi, inks, Prima flowers, stickles, a butterfly punch, rhinestones, and a homemade twine pom pom to finish off this little tag. Please won't you come join us this week for this "Off the Page" challenge? You can make anything, anything at all... as long as it's not a card!

For Nana: Miss You Today

You may or may not have heard, my dear Nana, Maria Grech, died this morning, November 8th, at 7:15am. I woke to the email an hour later. It was pretty sudden. She was hospitalized on October 26th to be treated for back pain. Unrelated lung cancer was discovered as well as a tumour pressing on her aorta; they still do not know what caused her back pain. Due to reactions to medications she was unconsious or "out of it" for a lot of this time and was placed in a recovery center. Mike and I were able to see her for brief visits on the 3rd and 4th and she was able to meet Sirius which made her very happy. After we left she stopped eating and drinking and, as I said she passed away today.

Maybe it's a crafter thing, I don't know, but my first response aside from some tears, was the need to colour. After hours long battling with my printer that has decided it doesn't like printing digi images that don't smudge, I was able to sit down and make this. A lovely friend of mine, who I've recently converted into a Whovian, sat with me via phone and we watched two episodes of Doctor Who while I coloured and created this. His name is simply Fairy Bear and he's from Make it Crafty. I used a large collection of other supplies, which you can find listed below. He is coloured to reflect me and my sadness today... although I probably should have removed the Christmas trees from his sweater to make it less holiday themed.

Thank you to all the people who have written me and commented with prayers and well wishes. All your love and concern is greatly appreciated in this sad time for our family.

Shine Like a Star

Right now I'm pretty distracted from the crafting, but I thought that maybe if I allowed myself a "no rules" type of colouring session I could enjoy myself some. I've the stack of Greeting Farm new releases just to my right on my desk, so I picked up Twinkle Bean and picked a nice bright teal to colour her with. I then brought in some of my new Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic papers.

Smile, Mike!

Look, I didn't colour anything! Are you shocked?! But I did stamp things, ah well. I used the new Echo Park papers I showed the other day, as well as the woodgrain washi, and some older Echo Park paper to cobble together this little layout. This is what happens when you turn the camera on the photographer, hehehe.

Greeting Farm Blog: FFF - Stamp Your Own Background

Hello, everyone! Showcase Farmer Aeryn here with my very first FFF. First though, winner! Winner of last week's challenge is: 9. Jeanette! Email Jessica for your prize you lucky girl you!

For my challenge I thought I'd do something fun and playful. So this week we're stamping our own background just for the heck of it, lol! I hope you enjoy it, I thought it'd be fun, and I really liked making my sample.

I hope you enjoy playing along with us! Get out those stamps and have some TGF fun!
