My Photo
I'm 29 years old. I've been married to Michael Reitmeyer for 9 years and I'm incredibly grateful for that; he takes excellent care of me and allows me to be a stay-at-home-wife. I'm mom to Gambit Lebeau Reitmeyer (9) our brown tabby cat, Viggo Sanders Reitmeyer (6) our purebred Golden, and Sirius Lupin Reitmeyer (-1 year) our black purebred Pomeranian. I have Cystic Fibrosis, Anxiety Disorder, ADHD, and Osteoarthritis and as much as I try not to let that define me, it does. It's not something I can forget easily and it affects every part of my life. I just have to deal with that. I'm a housewife, a writer, and a crafter. My passion is writing LGBT romance novels. When I'm not writing I'm either colouring or scrapbooking. Sometimes both! My scrap closet is my happy place, although I wish it were bigger. I'm not too terribly interesting, but I talk a lot to make up for it. I'm sarcastic, I'm snarky, I'm honest to a fault, I always speak my mind, I swear, and I'm a childish brat sometimes, but if you can handle that and get to know me, I'm pretty fun to be around.

Australia Day Blog Hop

AustraliaDay1 copy
G'day, everyone, how's it hangin'? Mind if I call you 'Bruce', just to cut down on the confusion? Welcome to Make it Crafty's Australia Day celebration! If you've come here from the MiC blog you're in the right place! Today I have created (what I hope is) a beautiful scene of the Australian Outback for you. I'll admit, the only things I REALLY know about Australia come from TV and movies. Crocodile Hunter, Monty Python (where the sentiment comes from), stuff like that. I wanted to create a real "feel" of Australia, but in the end I just had to wing it!

I used a lot of digi stamps to create this scene. From Make it Crafty I used the backgrounds Australian Outback Farm Road and the Outback Dunny scene. I melded them together, then added in the Wire Fence, Rusty Windmill, Eucalyptus Tree, Kangaroo, and the Kookaburra (which always reminds me of Doctor Who). As for the characters I wanted to add some movement and childish fun so I arranged Koala Luka, Outback Luka, and Kangaroo Marci from La La Land Crafts in the scene. I used a stencil and ink for the sky, but everything else is coloured with my Copic markers.

Well, that's it for me! You're now on to my lovely friend Trudie to see what she has for you to continue the celebration for this great country!

  22. I love all the elements together and it really does have the feel of "Outback Australia". Love the way the MiC background elements fit in so well with the LLLC stamps. I do feel compelled to point out though that Monty Python is ENglish lol ... Cheers from Newcastle, Australia (near Sydney) ...

    1. Oh, I know they're English. But the sketch I linked to is the Australia sketch. They made fun of Australia a few times so that's one of the things I knew about the country, that the English make fun of them. ;)
