A Foxy Note

This week's Some Odd Girl challenge was to use something with "C" in it. I chose "critter", "cardstock", "clouds", "colouring", and "chevrons". I also used a sketch from Prompt four of Shimelle's Pretty Paper Party for the layout of the card. I'm slowly, SLOWLY working my way through this class!

MiC Mirror Post: You and Me

Hi, all! Aeryn here. I come to you today with a just a simple little card. When I saw the characters here from Simply B Stamps I instantly thought they'd look good together and this scene popped into my head. Nice and bright for a Spring day, don't you think? I hope you like it! Have a great day everyone, stay crafty!

Some Odd Girl "Odd Idol" One

Some Odd Girl is having a competition for "Odd Idol". There's a huge prize of stamps for the winner, determined by popular vote, and I like most of the stamps (some I have already) in it so I figured I'd throw my hat in the ring. The first challenge was a sketch, which looks just like my card. I didn't really bother changing it cos I liked it. For each layer of the sketch I matted the patterned paper with Kraft so it'd show up more. I used a whole 8.5x11 sheet of Kraft for this. My colouring on this is pretty crap. You'd think if I were really trying to win this thing I'd have managed to colour better, but I just didn't. Really depressing actually. Were this not a sketch challenge I'd go back and fix it, do a better image or something, but I really don't want to pull this all apart again. It took a long time to do. So, there you go, it stands. If I get voted into the next level it'll be great and I'll try to do a better job at colouring. I mean, really, what the hell is this?! SMH

You and Me Oscar

This is one of those images I print out on a whim when I'm printing out something else. While updating my computer I got most of little Oscar coloured, and then finished colouring him after once again moving my space around on Saturday. I used a sketch from Shimelle's Pretty Paper Party for the layout, and the idea of using only patterned paper for it.

Kaylee's Dance Party

This week's challenge at the Some Odd Girl forum was to use brads. I don't have a whole lot of them, but I managed to find some from an old Club Scrap kit, nice neutral silver ones, so I went a bit nuts with the colours of this image. This one kind of coloured itself. I didn't have any direction at all, and frankly I thought she'd end up being blonde. I really like how her hair *did* come out though, and  the effect the BV20 is adding to the skin. I hope you like it!

Make it Crafty is Entertaining!

Let us Entertain You!!
It's SHOWTIME at Make it Crafty!
Hello and welcome everyone! For my first image I have used one of the new Tap Dancers. I loved how carefree he looked and figured the sentiment went really well with it.

Digital Stamps: Make it Crafty (Tap Dancer)
Cardstock: XPress-It, Recollections Kraft
Paper: American Crafts Dear Lizzy "Lucky Charm"

The second card I made for this release is using one of the Can Can Dancers. I was surprised at how much I liked this gal, as the big band, can-can thing is a little intimidating to me. But the moment I saw her I had colours for her immediately picked out in my mind. I'm regretting adding the yellow dots to her background though. I'd much prefer if I'd chosen a soft red, or avoided a colour all together. Ah well, colour and learn, yeah? I took the opportunity while making this card to use a sketch from the first lesson of Shimelle's Pretty Paper Party that I'm participating in on the message board. I think most of my creations for this class will be cards.

Stamps: Make it Crafty (Can Can Dancer - rubber), Paper Smooches (sentiment)

Lastly I have the image that I made first, but coloured last. Sometimes the larger scenes just get me stumped a bit. I got them before I saw the backgrounds for this amazing release so I combined these rockers with an older background from the movie release. I figured these rockin' figures are filming their music video. I used gold on the background fabric because I saw an AFI concert, the tour for Crash Love, and their backdrop was gold and silver. I thought this fit nicely.

MiC Design Team: In the Woods

I have to admit, this challenge of "voiding the warranty" stumped me for a long time. So long, in fact, that I'm a little late in posting this. But the thing you must realise about creativity is that if you don't rush it, if you let it come, it'll do some pretty amazing things. And it's in the spirit of that that I bring you this: the first MiC centaur image. How did I make her? Well, I took Elven Ardella the fairy and merged her with the Enchanted Unicorn stamp in PhotoShop. This makes liberal use of my eraser tool as well as my "skew" tool to get Ardella in the perfect position. I shortened her hair, as well as the unicorn's tail, just to keep the lines consistent. I then put her in with the Forbidden Tower to complete the scene. Can't you just see her galloping through the meadow?
I hope you enjoy this scene and I have to say, THIS is why I absolutely adore digital stamps and Make it Crafty especially for allowing me to do this kind of thing with the stamps. Always remember, follow your creativity wherever it leads, you might be surprised at just what you can come up with!

Stay Crafty!

Some Heroes Become Legends

Some Odd Girl
Some Odd Girl was having a challenge last week to colour on Kraft. I LOVE colouring on Kraft and printed out another image right away. And then this idea came to me. I thought of this idea of a superhero in his own time that becomes a legend in the future. You know, cos I'm still completely and utterly heartbroken by the finale of Spartacus and I want legends to NEVER die! Yeah, I'm damaged. But it resulted in a cute card, right?

Project Life 2013: Week 15

Managed to get a Project Life page done today. I figured I'd start from, well, now. That way memory is more fresh and all. You can see more of my attempts at drawing, the elf boy first, and then I did the little monk guy in just pencil. I figured I'd just include the originals on there, cos I'm not sure where else I'd put them.

You'll Never Sleep Alone

As far as trendy scrapbooking goes, I guess I'm a trendy scrapbooker. I have the Echo Park, I have the wood veneers, I have the little clusters of things and even the trendy style layout with only one photo. But I gotta say, trendy or not, I do enjoy this page. And it still has all the journalling I want in it, so I think it can all be done at once!

LMMS/SBS Joint Release Day 2

Welcome to day two of the joint release between Little Miss Muffet Stamps and Simply B Stamps. We're still partying, of course, and you still have lots of chances to win prizes! Visit the Little Miss Muffet blog for all the details, but don't forget to comment before you go!

I used another of the adorable stuffed animals from LMMS to make this card and added a few sweet treats, because when you get a group of women together you certainly need something sweet! I added a little hat for her too, because at a tea party you should wear a fancy hat, lol.

LMMS/SBS Release Hop!

Hi, everyone! I was asked by Barbara, the wonderful owner of Little Miss Muffet Stamps to join in on the fun today as she, her team, and the gals from Simply B Stamps celebrate a joint Tea Party release! I'll be using exclusively the LMMS images for this release. I was instantly drawn to this little zebra, so I had to use him first. I don't know what it is about him, but he just hits my "awww" button so hard! I combined him with some presents, balloons, and flowers in PhotoShop to create a little celebration gift package.
