Art Card #1

I see a lot of people make Artist Trading Cards, index cards, and just generally small pieces of art, so I thought that I would try it in a way that inspired me. I thought, if nothing else, I could put them in my scrapbooking page protectors and keep them that way. So I cut a piece of watercolour paper into many 3x4 cards and set about sketching.

Her nose came out bigger than I would have liked, but I like working in profile, so I eventually called it good and started painting.

This took about two hours from sketch to finish, but I like the results. She looks prettier than I thought she would, but her nose is still bigger than I wanted. I do like how the yellow makes her pop, and the blue in her hair adds contrast to the black. This is one of the few times I've done makeup too, so that was fun to play with.
