Card Explosion #1: Masculine Card

Today I made my very first process video and created a card using the little boy stamp that I coloured in my first colouring video that I made last week and shared with you. Here is the new video:

And here is the final card up close.
I pretty much explained everything about this card in the video, but it's for a guild mate of mine from Elder Scrolls Online and I wanted to keep it simple for him which is why the video is short. I hope it wasn't too slow or boring for you. Give me time and I'll babble through anything so yeah. Anyway, I'll hopefully be able to use my YouTube channel more often, if people like seeing videos from me, so please subscribe!

Watercolour Wednesday: The Red Tree

For today's Watercolour Wednesday I have a piece I was working on in Mike's office on Monday. I went to work with him because he was getting tubes put in his eyes in the hopes of keeping them from getting to dry and damaging his vision. He was going to pick out glasses too and needed my help, but decided to wait until he got the permanent tubes put in a week from now. Anyway, I stayed the whole day at his work and needed something to do, so I painted this. I like working with silhouettes because it means you don't have to know how to draw properly and include details, lol! I finished most of it at his work, taking my pencils and paint box with me, and then I misted it and did some final inking when we got home. I hope you like it! I kinda want to try this in a bunch of different colours. I like trees. They're inspiring, don't you think?

Hunger Games Marathon

Hiya, everyone! I have a layout today. Mike and I went to see the Hunger Games Mockingjay release last year, but instead of just seeing one movie, we saw all three! I absolutely love seeing movies in a marathon and I always try and get a few pictures, even though the theatres are dark. I included our ticket on here (which totally threw off the colour scheme) as well as the little lanyard they had us wear with all three movies' showtimes on it and whatnot. I stuck close to the "fire" theme for this layout, since that plays a huge part in Hunger Games in general. Since the photos ended up quite dark, especially with a black dog involved, I kept black as just a small embellishment of the doodling on the paper instead of adding black washi or something for instance. I did get a good amount of washi on here, as well as several patterns from one of my Stash kits that I made a while back. It was the Autumn Twist kit so it had a lot of these type patterns and colours. I hope you like this layout, and are happy to actually SEE layouts on this site, since I don't make them often! Stay Crafty. :)

Autumn Twist Stash Kit
Basic Grey paper
Studio Calico paper
WRMK washi

Colour Explosion #1: Copic Colouring Tutorial - TGF boy

My video is up! It's my first live colouring video, but I'm hoping that it's not the last. I have gotten some amazingly supportive feedback so far, and some constructive criticisms, so I'm hoping the videos can only get better from here. I do apologize that it's not perfect, and it's a bit blurry, but since it's a video "just for fun" not for a DT or anything, I figured it'd do, lol! So please watch if you're interested in seeing how to colour this little guy, comment if you're so inclined, and subscribe to my channel if you'd like to see the subsequent videos. I have one set up right now for a "progress video" of making a card with this stamp! See, many exciting things planned, lol!

Recording... Is This Thing ON?!

Seriously, is it? I was going to take pictures of the few layouts I've done the last couple days, but then I got out the tripod and the camera went *there*. That's right, I'm going to attempt to make videos for you fine people! Wish me luck, cos it's not going to be easy, but I have the room, the YouTube channel, and the motivation. Hopefully that's enough to get me through!

A Winter Hello!

Hi, all. I'm sorry I've been so terrible with blogging. My moods have been completely destroyed by the medication I'm on for my CF and it has made me a bit all over the place emotionally as well as crafting-wise. You can keep up with me on Instagram or FB, just in case I don't post properly here.

Right now, though, I'm posting properly, with a card I made using my Copics and a Greeting Farm stamp. I got a face mask for wearing when I go out in public, and for clinic visits especially, and I wanted to test how well it'd protect me from the smell of the Copics. I'm happy to say it did pretty well. I had to do the image in stages a bit, but it worked out. I had fun with this card and I used some uncommon "winter" colours and the paper collection isn't winter at all. That was definitely fun to do.

Now, a new thing! This card needs a new home! In the interest of me not having piles and piles of cards here in my home, I'd like to start sending cards of to YOU, the reader. So, first to comment that you want it will get this card. Exciting? I hope so!

Melt My Heart

My first card of the year! It's here! I stamped out these guys during the x-mas holiday weekend, but didn't get them coloured up properly until Monday. I thought I'd use some paper from the new 6x6 pad that I got during Black Friday and I think it came out really cute. I'm particularly happy with the snow on the snowman. The Pablos set has this really cool white/blue that works perfectly for it. I kept the rest of the card simple to showcase the stamps. I hope you like it, and have a great Thursday.

Watercolour Wednesday: Flower Serenity

Today's Watercolour Wednesday features me playing around with a flower stamp from Papertrey Ink and my Koi watercolour box. I embossed the stamp beforehand, just to add the nice white outline instead of a black one.
It took a little while, I did it while watching a movie, but I took a fine brush and just worked at it. I like how it came out, but I think I might end up cutting it out. I plan on placing this on one of my 2015 PL start up pages. So yeah, I think it will need to blend in more with my chosen background paper.

I hope you like this project. I think it came out pretty good and it was fun. Just what you want from a craft project, lol!

Watercolour Wednesday: Something RIGHT

My first creation of the new year! I don't have a lot of goals this year, art-wise, but what I'm trying to do is just start and then let the art talk to me. Whatever it wants to be, wherever it wants to go, that kind of thing. When I started the background I didn't know where it was going, all I knew was that I was directionless and that if I didn't just start then I'd not do anything and I really wanted to. The good news is that in creating this I came up with an idea for another piece, which I'm thankful for because making this was not easy. My lungs are so fragile they didn't appreciate the silver Sharpie at all. And outlining it was even worse. I'm honestly completely sick of crap like this. I just want to be left alone to create!

I hope you like this piece in my watercolour journal and thanks for joining me this Watercolour Wednesday!

Studio Monday: New Stamps, More Glue!

For Black Friday and just general "buying things" I ended up with a huge amount of stamps to organise. I'd just finished organising the ones I already had on hands, so I didn't want to do it right away, but it's 2015 so I kinda have to get going on this kinda thing...
Friday night I pulled apart all the foamy stuff  off the back of the few stamps that had it and got rid of all the packaging. It's surprising how much space just that stuff takes up! Blah! Then Sunday I got out the foam brush and the Aileen's Tack it Over and Over and got to gluing. I had originally organised the stamps into categories, but it turned out I had just enough glue to do *all* the rubber stamps. It took up my whole desk! It's better this way though, doing it all at once, so I don't have to worry about getting the glue out again. With my CF it's a bit difficult to deal with the chemical smell from the glue. The same thing with having so many clear stamp packages open at once. It just gets super checmical-y and hurts my fragile lungs. This way at least that step is done and my super industrial air purifier can get rid of the smell while I sleep.
The next step is, once everything is dry (takes about 30 minutes), for me to get out my stamp categories and once again organise these guys into their themes, stick them onto their transparency sheets, and get them in their page protectors. I've still got to count all the unused stamps I have so this is the larger part of the job and you'll have to wait for another Studio Monday to see the rest.

I hope you have a great day, and that you have a smaller organising job ahead of you than I have ahead of me!

Welcome 2015

Well, this is it. It's officially a new year. This is my space, this is where I start from. I thank you for visiting and joining me on yet another year of my creative journey. Here we go!
